RULES AND REGULATION
CAREFULLY READ THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS BEFORE FILLING THE FORM.
Schools are advised to register their Spellers on time to ensure adequate preparation.
Schools are allowed to register as many Spellers as they can to Stand a Chance of Winning the Competition and Schools are to come with maximum 2 Teachers.
Participants must be within the age of 6-17 years of age.
Participants must arrive at the venue on or before 09:10a.m to check in and receive their Tag number.
Failure to do so, the School(s) will be penalized.

GUIDING RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR DICTATION (PHYSICAL)
This stage includes all Spellers and it is a DICTATION; the Pronouncer pronounces the words, the S
Spellers write on a sheet.
Each subsequent stage includes only the spellers who spelled (spelt) their words correctly in the DICTATION stage.
Once the pronouncer pronounces the word, the contestant has twenty seconds to spell each word given during the dictation stage. The 20 seconds begin when the pronouncer pronounces the word.
Anyone speller caught whispering either by talking or signing to another speller or person when a word is pronounced by the pronouncer will be disqualified from the competition.
For this stage, only the pronunciation of the words will be given; definitions and sentences won’t be given.
Every child is standing on his/her own representing a school.
GUIDING RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR DICTATION (VIRTUALLY)
1. Participants must sit in a quiet, well-lit room with their face and surroundings visible at all times.
2. No books, phones, dictionaries, or additional electronic devices are allowed during the competition. A moderator may request a 360ยฐ camera view of the participantโs environment before or during the round.
3. Participants will be called in a pre-determined order (randomized or alphabetical).
4. The pronouncer will say the word clearly. Participants may request the word to be repeated, defined, or used in a sentence (maximum two requests per word).
5. Each participant has 20 seconds to begin spelling after the word is given. Spelling must be continuous, with no restarts once begun.
6. Participants must spell the word aloud, letter by letter, and may also be required to type it in the chat for clarity.
7. A word is considered correctly spelled only if all letters are stated in the correct order without self-correction after finishing.
8. If a participant misspells a word, they are eliminated from that round. The competition continues until one speller remains.
9. The last two participants must spell one word each in turns. To qualify, a participant must spell 2 out of 3 of their word correctly and their opponent must misspell theirs.
10. If a participant disconnects, they will be given a maximum of 2 minutes to rejoin. Repeated disconnections may lead to disqualification.
11. If the participantโs voice or video is unclear, the judge may ask for a repeat. If issues persist, it may be considered a forfeited turn.
12. Participants must maintain respect for moderators, judges, and other contestants. Any disruptive or inappropriate behavior leads to disqualification.
14. Judgesโ/moderatorsโ decisions are final and binding.
Please note that any state with fewer than 5 registered schools will be required to PARTICIPATED VIRTUALLY
Schools are to register minimum 10 spellers. There is no maximum limit to the numbers of Spellers that can be registered for the Competition.
Do note that there is no REFUND after payment.
Penalty will be issued to any School that violates the rules and regulations.
ย Children not REGISTERED as Spellers or Audiences cannot attend the competition. Any school who brings additional children that is not registered will be disqualified from the competition.
Any child that is registered on the day of the competition will not be refreshed.
ย REGISTRATION AT THE VENUE attracts an additional fine of N10000 per child.
